Care and Preservation
The Art of Preservation
AERA garments are crafted from considered fabrics, engineered to be worn season after season. True sustainability lives in longevity. How you care for your piece dictates its history.
The Wash Cycle
- Temperature: Launder at 30°C or cold. Higher temperatures degrade premium cotton fibres and cause premature wear.
- Detergent: Use mild, ecological detergents. Avoid optical brighteners and harsh chemical bleaches.
- Turning Inside Out: Always wash the garment inside out to protect the surface texture and seams.
The Drying Ritual
- Flat Dry Only: Reshape the garment while damp and dry flat on a clean towel or drying rack. Never tumble dry, as it breaks down the integrity of the knit.
- Avoid Hangers While Wet: Gravity will stretch premium knits when wet. Store folded once dry, or use wide, padded hangers.
Steaming & Character
Use a garment steamer to gently release creases while retaining the fabric's natural loft. High-quality natural fibres may experience minor pilling over time with friction; a gentle fabric shaver will easily restore the surface without damaging the yarns.
